i am having these banded and not to sure about what size to go?
i would like to have them as wide as possible 8? or best to go for 7.5? dont want to do any mod to the body,

This is 8j with mods to the body ... if you don't want to do the mods and want to go low ... this is to big !!
Mine was lowered 85mm at the front & 60mm at the back

i want to run some biggish tyres 185/60 so may just have to settle with 7.5?

7.5 J may be too wide also. This probably depends on the offset (ET-value) of the rims.
7J "ATS Classics" with ET 20 will fit without changes to the bodywork and 185/60 will fit nicely on the 7J rim.

if you want to test fit
you can place a spacer
than thake the fiknis of the spacer to the rim

like erik said, 8j is too wide, 7.5j at the back and 7j at the front should fit without any mods to the body.
it depends also of the stongnes of your suspension.
if you got weak shockabsorbers, then the tyre's can hit your wheelarches.
7.5j with 185-60-13 tyres should fit nice at the back
and 7j with the same size tyres at the front.

looks like 8j will be +5et 7.5j will be +12et
these are fitted to my coupe 8x13 with et -6 on rear and -1et on the front

just had a set of wheels banded went for 8" in the end, just need to have them blasted clean and painted
